Journal 5- Slow Down and Sniff the Roses

For this week's journal, I'm going to be talking about slowing down and thinking about what's really important in life, and how I've realized that they are important.

Some things that I've realized are really important to me are my phone, family, friends, books and TV/Netflix, and food. I am also thankful for my bedroom.

My phone is important to me because when I'm not with my friends or family, I can still talk to them. Plus, I can play games on it, watch Netflix on it, do lots of things on it. It keeps me entertained when I'm bored, and nowadays I'm very bored, so it's good that I have my phone.

I've realized that my family and friends are important to me. Of course, I knew they were before, but I've realized now that I can't see them and hang out with them, it's opened my eyes and made me realize that they're a big part of my life and I miss them.

Books and TV/Netflix are important to me to because they keep me entertained and give me something to do. At night when I can't sleep I read. When I have nothing to do in the day, I watch Netflix or read. I don't know what I would do without books and Netflix.

I am VERY thankful for food. I have definitely been eating too much, and not much of it is very healthy, but I can't help it, it's good! I've definitely been eating because I'm bored, so while I watch Netflix or read, I eat. It's not a good habit, but I do it, and it tastes good, so I keep doing it, and I'll keep doing it, so it's ok. I am thankful for food and I've realized that recently because I have so much time to eat it.

And finally, I am very thankful for my bedroom and my bed because it's my safe place. It's recently repainted the colours I want, and it's comfortable, so I enjoy being there. I can go there to hide from my family if things are tense, or I can just go there to hang out. I never really used to hang out in my room before Covid-19, but now I do quite a bit.
